'''கே2-18பி''' (''K2-18b'') என்றும் '''EPIC 201912552 b''' என்றும் அறியப்படும் விண்பொருள் [[புவி]]யில் இருந்து {{Convert|38|pc|ly|sigfig=3|order=flip|lk=on}} தொலைவில் உள்ள [[கே2-18]] என்னும் [[செங்குறுமீன்|செங்குறுமீனின்]] ஒரு [[புறக்கோள்]] ஆகும். இக்கோள், பூமியைப் போல 2.6 மடங்கு பெரிய ஆரம் கொண்ட கோள். இப்புறக்கோள், அதிக வெப்பமும் அதிகக் குளிரும் அல்லாத, நாம் அறிந்த [[உயிரினங்களின் வாழ்தகமைப் பிரதேசம்|உயிர்கள் வாழக்கூடிய]] இடைவெப்ப நிலையான பகுதியில் செங்குறுமீனை 33-நாள் சுழற்சியில் வலம் வருகின்றது. ஏறத்தாழ பூமியைப் போன்ற அளவே 'கதிரவ' ஒளியைப் பெறுகின்றது. இதனை [[கெப்லர் (விண்கலம்)|கெப்புளர் விண்நோக்கி]] கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளது. பின்னர் [[ஜேம்சு வெப் விண்வெளித் தொலைநோக்கி|சேம்சு வெபு விண்நோக்கி]] வழியாக உற்று நோக்கப்பட்டது. இந்தப் புறக்கோளுக்கு [[வளிமண்டலம்]] இருப்பதும் தெரிய வந்தது.

2019 இல் இந்தப் புறக்கோளின் வளிமண்டலத்தில் நீர்வளிமம் இருப்பது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால் அறிவியல் உலகத்திற்கு இப்புறக்கோளின் மீது ஆர்வம் ஏற்பட்டது. 2023 இல் K2-18b இல் சேம்சு வெபு விண்ணோக்கி கரிம ஈராக்குசைடு வளிமத்தையும் மீத்தேன் வளிமத்தையும் கண்டுபிடித்தது. சேம்சு வெபு விண்ணோக்கியின் தரவிலிருந்து நீர் நிறைந்த கடலும் ஐதரசன் மிகுந்த வளிமண்டலும் கொண்ட குறும் நெப்டியூன் கோள் போன்றது என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்தனர். உயிரினம் வாழ்வதற்கு உகந்த புறக்கோளாக இருக்கும் வாய்ப்புகளை அலசி வருகின்றார்கள். வெப்பநிலை இடைப்பட்ட நிலையில் இருப்பதையும் தாண்டி வளிநிறை கோள்களாகிய வியாழன் நெப்டியூன் ஆகியவற்றை ஒத்த புறக்கோளாக இருக்கும் என்று கருதுகின்றனர்.

2025 இல் K2-18b புறக்கோளின் வளிமண்டலத்தில் இருமீத்தைல் சல்பைடு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. இவ்வளிமம், இயற்கையில் உயிர்வாழும் உயிரிகளில் இருந்து மட்டுமே வெளிவிடப்படுகின்றது என்றும் பூமியில் உள்ளதைவிட 20 மடங்கு அதிகமாக இருப்பதாகவும் கணக்கிட்டிருக்கின்றனர். இந்த வேதியிய வளிமம் குறைந்த காலமே சிதையாமல் இருக்கும் ஆகையால், இவ்வளிமம் தொடர்ந்து புறக்கோளில் உருவாக்கப்படுகின்றது என்று கருதுகின்றனர்.<ref name="NewC_1">{{cite journal| author1=Nikku Madhusudhan| author2=Savvas Constantinou| author3=Måns Holmberg| author4=Subhajit Sarkar| author5=Anjali A.
